Ann workin' the colors of the wind, while I look poised to be steppin' out of a florida retirement home.
Went to Style Wars this past weekend with fatt grl squad @ Mezzanine. You can see all the footage for yourself here. But before that, I had a lovely dinner in the lower haight @ Alee's apartment. She made a nice caesar salad to go with Ann's famous crusty Chicken Parm, although we substituted parmesan for mozzarella because we already had parm in the salad (and mozz melts so much better). I brought berries for dessert with ginger ale, a cop out considering all I did the day before was rave about Fat Apple's cheesepuffs, this light, pillowy morsel of puff pastry filled with cheesecake. Hype will get me no wherez. DAMN, next time girls 4real.

potluck has been quite successful so far. We meet once a week to air dirty laundry, cook a meal together, and either pass out from food coma or work off the calories on the dance floor. Going 3 weeks strong with the ladies rotating entrees. The first week, I made a lobster ravioli with butternut squash in a white wine cream sauce, while Alee made the tomato feta salad with basil, and ann brought grapes. Then last week, Al surprised us all with her mom's recipe for roasted chicken, while Ann made an avocado/almond/tomato/red pepper salad with a balsamic dressing, and I brought the passion fruit ice cream.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the bay, waitin' for me in k-town was the Shogun Assasin himself, super stressed out but still managing to look pretty cute.
"When I was little, my father was famous. He was the greatest Samurai in the empire, and he was the Shogun's decapitator. He cut off the heads of the 131 lords for the Shogun. It was a bad time for the empire. The Shogun just stayed inside his castle and he never came out. People said his brain was infected by devils, and that he was rotting with evil. The Shogun said the people were not loyal. He said he had a lot of enemies, but he killed more people than that. It was a bad time. Everybody was living in fear, but still we were happy. My father would come home to mother, and when he had seen her, he would forget about the killings. He wasn't scared of the Shogun, but the Shogun was scared of him. Maybe that was the problem. At night, mother would sing for us, while father would go into his temple and pray for peace. He'd pray for things to get better. Then, one night the Shogun sent his ninja spies to our house. They were supposed to kill my father, but they didn't. That was the night everything, forever. That was when my father left his samurai life and became a demon. He became an assassin who walks the road of vengeance. And he took me with him. I don't remember most of this myself. I only remember the Shogun's ninga hunting us wherever we go. And the bodies falling. And the blood." - DAIGORO
