Blue Jean Baby, L.A. Lady

Big thanks to Alee T for taking all these pictures with her blackberry or disposable camera, which explains the grainy quality.  I was definitely channeling a blossom resort wear look with my outfit choices, but then again, so was Alee.  Cassie went for a more crazysexycool vibe working lace, neon, and paisley, and Katherine was effortlessly bombshell blonde the whole weekend.

Day 1:

the drive down consisted of listening to old school Mariah Carey and Lil' Wayne:

Followed by a night out at the Room:

Day 2:

The Pool @ the Standard, a downtown stroll, and a night out at the Association:

Please see "Rocky" from Survivor Fiji to your right.

A delicious dinner at the Standard, with a less than attentive wait staff.  In their defense, they were ridiculously understaffed and overworked, so I don't feel too bad for accidentally tipping them 20%.

I volunteered to take this shot because I was the only one not wearing a solid color.

This shot almost didn't happen.  Fast fingers ya'll!

Childhood buddies Matt, of Alphabet Energy and Jules, former animator at Disney.  Me, with one earring in and a hotel key in my sheer shirt pocket.  Good Grief.

Bricks in the road.  Alee's magenta and blue ankle boots !!

Almonds, black tea, and Coconut Juice with Maker's Mark whiskey from earlier in the night.  Alee and I left the bar early to devour this fruit tart from bottega louie in our hotel room, great with an order of chicken n' waffles at 1 am.

my PJs, yes those are man-thermals

Day 3: Paradise Cove in Malibu

Brazilian Bikinis

Look at what the cat dragged in

This was taken after I had finished the Brie and Honey Sticks.  I guess I just didn't know what to do with myself after that.

Ha, I think Matt said it perfectly: "27 going on 77"-- Jules with Jorge Luis Borges, Holga, and San Pellegrino.

Crazy Eyes in a Jumpsuit.  Okay, so the shoes were a little big.

Day 4: Getting Ready for the Drive Home

Shout out to my man...(you know who you are) for changing my life and introducing me to the joys of whole whipping cream. <3

Fantasy Cars

Mural at a Gas Station near Panty Raid.

The drive down mainly consisted of listening to Salt n' Pepa (sooooo GOOD) and again, Lil' Wayne.  Me sitting on furni outside the fruit stand in Bakersfield.  See how exhausted I look.  As much as I enjoyed L.A. weather, I was so glad to get back to the bay, where the air is cleaner, the men are less manicured and more intellectual, and the temperatures fluctuate between 75 and 39 degrees a day, changing almost instantaneously without warning.  Ugh
