I have a pretty campy sense of humor, but I think it stems partly from watching this series. Chock full of sexual innuendos/cleavage, I guess I used to think this was how grown ups really acted. Take for instance the scene in Rapunzel where Jeff Bridge's pregnant wife is craving a radish in bed. He turns to her and asks if she would prefer a cucumber instead and proceeds to nuzzle the nape of her neck as she blushes, playfully brushing him off.
When I was 5, I made my dad drive me to the library every week so I could check out this video series. I watched Cinderella with Matthew Broderick almost two dozen times. It's definitely not your average Disney crap. It's got a grittiness to it. Plus, the VHS quality is awesome. ha, not to mention it has a great cast and awesome directors. Tim Burton directed Aladdin, and that dude from Revenge of the Nerds is in Jack and the Beanstalk. This is truly the stuff my twisted childhood dreams were made of. Shelley Duvall gave me hope for bizarre, magical, happy endings.
